The webinar also includes the release package, the structure of the first draft of the TNFD Recommendations and two Q&A sections with the audience. These include centre of government reform, national economic development strategy and the architecting of green finance investment opportunities. He began his career in the Australian diplomatic service before moving into the private sector, first in investment banking where he focused on infrastructure project financing and then in strategy consulting as a Partner at Monitor Deloitte and as an adviser with the World Bank Group. Guests Elizabeth Maruma Mrema Co-Chair, TNFD Elizabeth Maruma Mrema is Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations and Deputy Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP). Elizabeth is a biodiversity leader and lawyer with over two decades of experience working in the development and environment sectors, with a track record of negotiating next-generation policies and enabling instruments for planet, people and prosperity. Prior to her current role, she was Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) where she led the negotiations of the Global Biodiversity Framework adopted in 2022. Elizabeth’s work as Director of the Law Division at UNEP focused on the development, implementation and enforcement of David Craig Co-Chair, TNFD David has 30 years of experience in financial markets data, analytics and technology and is seen as a leading expert in the data and market infrastructure required to drive sustainable markets. David Craig is the Co-Chair of the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) and Advisory Board member of the Sustainable Markets Initiative (SMI) launched by His Majesty King Charles III. He is a member of the IAPB (International Advisory Panel for Biodiversity Credits) leading the work on measurement and has led numerous projects and groups with TheCityUK and the World Economic Forum on global finance, innovation and technology. David was the former founder and CEO of Refinitiv, one of the largest data and technology platform providers to financial markets operating in over 160 countries. Following the acquisition of Refinitiv by London Stock Exchange Group for $27B in 2021, he become head of LSEG’s Data and Analytics Division. He was previously founder and CEO of the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) business and head of strategy at Thomson Reuters and Reuters plc. Prior to these roles he spent 8 years as a partner at McKinsey focusing on technology and financial services clients, and was a software developer for American Management Systems. David is a private investor in natural capital technology firms, Board Advisor and chairs the Triple Private Equity Investment Committee of. He is a director of the Green Finance Institute PMO, and is a Trustee at the Natural History Museum supporting Innovation and Data. Judson Berkey Managing Director, Chief Sustainability Officer, UBS, UBS Jessica McDougall Director, BlackRock Investment Stewardship, BlackRock Bas Ruter Director, Sustainability & Climate, Rabobank Emily McKenzie Technical Director, TNFD Emily has significant experience on integrating nature in policy, finance, economics and decision-making. Prior to joining TNFD in November 2021, she led the analytical team that produced the global Dasgupta Review on the Economics of Biodiversity, based at the UK Economics and Finance Ministry. Emily was previously seconded to the Capitals Coalition where she helped develop the Natural Capital Protocol in its Technical Group. Emily worked for a decade in the WWF Global Science team, where she helped establish and lead the Natural Capital Project at Stanford University, helping decision-makers apply InVEST – leading ecosystem service modelling software. While at WWF, she supported The Coca Cola Company and Guggenheim Partners to consider dependencies and impacts on nature, and sustainability standards. She helped design the Environmental Land Management scheme in England – a major national agricultural subsidy reform programme – based at the UK Department of Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra). Other previous roles included establishing environmental economics programmes at the Joint Nature Conservation Committee and the Pacific Islands Applied Geoscience Commission as an Overseas Development Institute Fellow. She holds Masters degrees in International Policy from Stanford University and Economics at the University of Cambridge. Based in London, Emily speaks English, and basic Bislama, Fijian, German and French.
