Home » WebinarsA roadmap for enabling market access to decision-useful nature-related data including pilot testing for a Nature-related Data Public Facility (Session 1) Date 11th December 2024 Collection Public Webinars In this session, we explored how to improve market access to nature-related data, showcasing the TNFD’s latest paper, “A roadmap for upgrading market access to decision-useful nature-related data.” Tony Goldner and Cathrine Armour presented the latest draft guidance and introduced the concept of an open-access Nature-related Data Public Facility (NDPF) and its target use cases for corporate reporting, target setting and nature transition planning. Nature-related data users and providers provided their unique perspectives on the role of nature-related data in driving sustainable finance and resilient business strategies and the need for an open-access NDPF. Cathrine Armour, TNFD’s Data Initiatives Director, outlined the pilot testing programme and workstreams that will support TNFD’s Data Initiatives in 2025. Hosted by Tony Goldner Executive Director, TNFD For over two decades, Tony has advised government, financial sector and philanthropic leaders on a range of strategic challenges at the intersection of business, finance and public policy. He has been instrumental in establishing a number of industry tools and pathways including National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) Waste and resource circularity reporting standards, biodiversity performance assessment processes and carbon neutral certification pathways. His current focus is delivering driving GPT’s environmental vision of carbon neutral now and nature positive next and addressing the dual challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss. A common thread throughout his career has been the development and use of appropriate metrics and tools to inform strategy and decisions making. In February 2024, GPT released its first Climate and Nature Disclosure Statement as one of the earliest adopters of TNFD integrated with TCFD reporting. GPT has developed and is using nature data tools to inform decision-making and Steve will share some of his insights.
