NARIA – a framework for quantifying ecosystem condition and uplift

CreditNature’s NARIA (Natural Asset Recovery Investment Analytics) framework offers a solution to the challenge of capturing complex data and converting it into a unit that measures condition and uplift in ecosystems.

It includes the accredited Ecosystem Condition Index (ECI), scored from 0 to 100. The ECI contains four metrics to measure ecosystem processes that, in interaction, gives rise to biodiversity and a range of other ecosystem services. It also includes the Ecosystem Management Rating (EMR), which is used to rate the impact of land management on ecosystem processes using an A-G scale from upgrading to downgrading.

NARIA enables corporates to evaluate human land management impacts on ecosystem processes that enhance and maintain ecosystem integrity and offers a standardised framework to design, plan and implement programmes of ecosystem restoration.
