Kanop

Kanop is a pioneering platform that specializes in leveraging satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to provide accurate, scalable, and cost-effective environmental monitoring solutions. Founded in France in 2021 with the mission to measure the environmental benefits provided by nature-based projects globally, Kanop now assists organizations seeking to comply with the voluntary carbon market (VCM) certifications, the requirements of the CSRD and TNFD, or the European regulation against deforestation and forest degradation (EUDR).

Kanop’s innovative approach combines multispectral and multitemporal optical and SAR imagery with state-of-the-art AI models, including deep learning and machine learning techniques. This integration allows for the precise stock and change measurement of key indicators such as forest cover, canopy height, biomass, and carbon stock across various ecosystems like grasslands, agroforestry systems, tropical rainforests, temperate forests, wetlands, and mangroves. Additionally, Kanop can accurately classify land use into categories such as agriculture, native forest, degraded forests, water bodies, and more.

The platform offers a user-friendly, self-service web application and API, making it accessible to a wide range of users, from small project developers to large corporations. Kanop’s technology enables rapid, transparent, and auditable environmental data, empowering organizations to make informed decisions and efficiently meet regulatory requirements.
