Welcome to the Learning Lab, an open-access learning platform to support self-paced learning about nature-related issues, the TNFD recommendations and additional guidance.

Offering consistent, high-quality learning materials, the Learning Lab has been developed by the TNFD Secretariat to help individuals upskill and expand their expertise on nature-related assessment and reporting and the broader business-nature landscape.

Who?

The Learning Lab is designed for individuals – from beginners to advanced practitioners – who want to upskill and expand their knowledge of nature-related issues and the TNFD recommendations and guidance.

From foundational concepts to practical application guidance, these modules are designed for self-paced individual learning.

How?

There are nine modules covering the core pillars and topics of the TNFD recommendations and guidelines.

Each unit includes educational videos, webinars, podcasts, and supporting resources.

The nine modules take you from foundational modules and the concepts and science that underpins the TNFD framework, to how-to modules on the LEAP assessment approach and more practical modules offering real-world examples of how to get started with nature-related assessment and reporting.

Learning Lab FAQs

What is the Learning Lab?

The Learning Lab is an open-access platform designed to support users in understanding the TNFD recommendations and guidance through interactive educational modules and units.

Is there a fee to use the Learning Lab?

No, the Learning Lab is completely free to use. All you need to do is create a profile, log in, and access the Learning Lab to get started.

Do I need to register to access the Learning Lab?

Yes, you must create a profile on the TNFD website to gain access to the Learning Lab. Registration is free. We recommend using your work email address to create an account.

How do I register for the Learning Lab? 

Anyone can register and access the Learning Lab.

Simply create a profile log-in, and start learning.

What information is required for registration? 

You will need to provide your name, job title, company information, email address, and some additional information. You will need to create a password too! 

What are modules and units? 

Modules are overarching educational topics, and units are the smaller, focused segments within each module. 

Do I need to complete modules and units in order? 

No, you can navigate through the modules and units in any order, or jump to “relevant units” in other modules if they are linked. 

Is the Learning Lab available in multiple languages? 

Currently, the Learning Lab is offered in English. However, some content may have translated options.  

Can I update my profile information? 

Yes, you can update your profile information at any time in the account settings section. You can update your sector preferences and interests as well as change your password. 

Do I receive a certificate for completing modules? 

Certificates of completion are not provided. This platform is designed for self-paced learning.  

What should I do if I experience technical issues?

Can I access the Learning Lab on mobile devices? 

Yes, the Learning Lab is accessible on both desktop and mobile devices. We recommend using a desktop device or tablet for the best user experience.  

How often is new content added? 

New content will be added every month where appropriate.  

When new content is added you will see a notification on the Learning Lab home dashboard.  

Set your notifications to receive updates and you will receive an email notification too.  

Do I need to pay to access the materials?

The materials are available free. There is no cost associated with creating a trainer profile, downloading the materials or adapting them for training delivery.
