Key outcomesAECOM’s broad portfolios of infrastructure projects means that efficient resource allocation requires prioritisation towards impact and risk mitigation strategies. The data inputs used for the prioritisation process have a strong influence on the outcome, and some nature-related impacts and dependencies can be affected by positive or negative feedback loops. Supply chain activities are also an important consideration when assessing nature-related risks, as raw material sourcing can have significant upstream impacts. Overall, water and terrestrial ecosystem use were found as highly material impacts across infrastructure projects, presenting a strategic opportunity to mainstream nature-based solutions into project design and construction.
