The pilot involved using the LEAP approach to assess the nature impact of two agricultural companies in their ESG Credit fund. Key outcomesFor JGP, geospatial analysis (GIS) was essential for assessing nature-related risks at scale, enabling precise and comprehensive evaluations of nature impacts. The companies in the ESG Credit fund of JGP have a contractual requirement to share location data, which facilitated mapping the assets and conducting the Locate phase of LEAP. Embedding data sharing requirements into contracts is critical for robust assessment and an accurate analysis of nature dependencies and impacts. The pilot helped JGP acquire knowledge about best practices in risk assessment and financial disclosure linked to nature. This information will increase transparency and communication with their stakeholders, for example through updates to investors and releasing its first TNFD-aligned report in 2024.
